Fr Ron Parker – Bryn Mawr, PA

Ron Parker with his Conti Entrada Archtop Jazz Guitar

“Like most professional guitarists, I have had a collection of fine guitars. Doing studio work in the 60s and 70s, I would sometimes go to the studio with five guitars: an arch top, flat top, acoustical, and solid bodies. One time I was evicted from an elevator on 56th street in New York – embarrassment! But now I have the guitar that does it all and sounds good playing jazz and rock. The Entrada fits with today’s sounds, the action is good and it fits under my coat. This is the guitar I have been waiting for. It’s got Moxi!

I have been playing and teaching guitar professionally for at least 60 years. I was a studio guitarist for three hit shows. Sweet Charity, and Promises, Promises, played jazz guitar for Chico Hamilton, featured at the River Boat Restaurant in the Empire State Building, played a lot, learned a lot, but the most usable stuff I’ve learned, I learned from a guy named Robert Conti

  2. Ron, Was wondering….did you ever give guitar lessons in Fords, New Jersey? American Music Studios on New Brunswick Avenue?

I was a student of Ron Parker back in the 70s.

    • Yes, that was my dad. That was probably in the early to mid 1970s. The owner was Art Braga, and I took drum lessons from him while my dad taught guitar upstairs.
      All the best,

Over the years, I have come to rely on my own ability to set up my guitars without consulting the “Pros”. After pulling my new Equity out of the box and picking through a few tunes, out of habit, I grabbed the toolbox. After about 10 minutes and a few delicate tweaks of the bridge and truss rod, this bad boy was singing like a bird and ready to dig serious pay dirt! Now, after playing this fine instrument for a couple of weeks I can honestly say it is my #1 Axe! I am absolutely enchanted with the warm

Found the perfect electric guitar…(UK)

The superb Conti Entrada was received extremely well packaged through FedEx International ahead of schedule. The supplied gig bag provided a safe and secure environment and the guitar was revealed in perfect condition. Once tuned, the Entrada played perfectly, no adjustment was needed to the intonation or playing action. The fret ends and fingerboard were exquisitely finished as was the tailpiece and headstock. A nice touch is the volute on the reverse of the join between the headstock and the neck. A sign of a quality instrument. The body finish is perfect with the stain revealing the attractive grain through

In 2009 when Robert Conti came out with his Conti Archtop guitar, I purchased one identical to the one I am holding in the photo! It still looks and plays like a dream. The thinner body is extremely comfortable. The action is low and fast as well. The pick guard and tail piece are wood – just all an around great guitar with a lot of attention to detail. Mr. Conti, thank you for being an absolute gentleman and taking the time to speak with me at the NAMM show. You are an inspiration to me and countless other musicians.
